I think shifts can be very draining. I had the luxury of working almost all evening shifts recently, so things weren't so bad.
But being in the ICU, whilst a dream come true, has made me realise that my good shifts are about to end. I just realised that the 12-hour rosters can be quite crap. One of my colleagues worked a 12-hr shift (7am to 7pm) on Tuesday, only to return on Wednesday to work the reverse 12-hour shift (7pm to 7am)!!
And a lot of 12-hr shifters work three straight days, which I don't know how they manage, because after the first 12-hour shift, your body is already very tired, especially if there had been a lot of changes in the ICU.
I did a late 8-hr shift, followed by what was supposed to be an early-morning 8-hr shift which ended up being a 12-hour shift, and by the end of that shift, I couldn't think straight. Went straight home, wanted to just crash into bed, but had to force myself to stay awake for dinner cause it's another morning shift the next day.
Don't even mention studying... What studying?!!

Rhonda losing weight is good if you work for it
I'm eating normally and still losing weight

Shift work....
I actually enjoyed working the 6.15am - 2.45pm shift while I was doing vacation work at the Sentosa Express, in spite of the fact that I need to be awake by 5am...
The customer traffic is low.... and the hours just seem to zip by.

Your shift sounds like MPB's
Except his shift works like that:
Day 1: 6am - 6pm
Day 2: 11am - 11pm
Day 3: 2pm - 2am
Day 4: 10pm - 10am
Day 5: Off
Rinse and repeat
Those hours mentioned are not inclusive of OT hours and him working on his off days

It's alright if your shift is constant, but what about a shift like, 1300-2130hrs first day, 0700-1930hrs 2nd day, then 1100-1930hrs 3rd day?

Oh my gosh!! Shifts like that suck!!! Poor MPB must be feeling worn out every week!
So, is MPB off on Days 6 and 7? That means he works only four days a week? How often does he need to work on his off days?
Y'know, if he works here, he'd be paid overtime and penalty rates for working on weekends and he'd be filthy rich every month!

He tries to work as much as he can during his off days because that is where the money is! Not to mention extra allowances too
Haha yeah he is tired every week >.<"

OK, if you die under 'mysterious circumstances', I shall tell your docs no need to do any autopsy because I'm sure Pinky Bear must have taken things into her own hands!
Death to the insensitive male!

These days, I have stopped caring about weight. As long as my old clothes fit, or feel looser, can liao!
I'm not too keen to return to Singapore because : #1 - Lousy weather; #2 - Social obsession with weight, which translates into nasty, insensitive comments thrown my way, and suddenly, I get all obsessed about weight again; #3 - fear of finding out that my close buddies have all moved on without me, which of course they have, but it's hard to discover that you no longer have anything in common; etc etc.
