  *me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke*

  Just now while my prof and I were doing a couple of experiments.... we smelled a faint scent of smoke.

  At first we shrugged it off..... then the scent got thicker.

  Then we discovered the cause: one of the 30cm fluorescent tubes that I was using for lighting had shorted out. The case got deformed out  of shape as a direct result of the heat.

  Luckily it was battery-powered sia..... no damage at all except for the tube itself.
