Just watched this movie a few days ago.
From the poster, I saw the movie is from the producers of 'Paranormal Activity' and the poster with the boy certainly looks lame.
I watch both Pananormal Activities and I was bored til death. Those are 4 hours of my life that I cannot chase back.
So naturally, I didnt have high expectations of the movie and sure enough, the first few minutes of the movie was boring as hell and looked rather cheap, but then I WAS WRONG.
There is no blood or any gore. But that does not go to say it is not scary.
On the contrary, the movie could be scary as hell.
Because the fear it brings about comes from the psychological level.
Anybody remember that eerie song that was playing in the background and there this little boy dancing to it?
OMG, that was CREEPY as hell.
Plus, at the ending part when the psychic lady photographed the husband and turned out to be the grandma ghost smiling at her. Geez... these 2 images stayed with me for days.
Trust me, I am an avid horror movie fan and I've watch the most gory movies where the head is here, the leg is there, the innards are everywhere and none of them affected me. Yet this film succeeded in making me felt uneasy, so i have to say it really is a successful horror show.
This is not necessarily a frightening movie but rather a very disturbing one. But there are also comedic elements added to it, the assistants' reactions to the ghosts were no less than hilarious.
The movie brings back the nostalgic flavour of the 1980s when horror films were good.
I hope more of such creative movies get released in future =)
