AVATAR takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization.
this is the type of movie hollywood should be making.
avatar is as entertaining as star trek and ironman. i enjoyed the battlescene in the third act and the CGI is quite realistic. i don't think it should be seen in 3D though, or maybe it shouldn't be seen in the 3D theatre at The Cathay. for some reasons the colors are less vivid in 3D.
hollywood is back and the na vis are actually pretty sexy.
oh my this movie is AWESOME ! need i repeat ? EPIC MOVIE. 5 popcorn out of 5
i can watch this over and over again without finding it boring. i want to tame the Banshee, ikran.
i will vote this as the best movie of 2009. no kidding.
wah 差一点点 becomes na beis people
This has surpassed Terminator series as the new masterpiece
Think it will have a sequel given the positive reviews...the skypeople coming back again to mine pandoria , will Jake scully again save the day in Part 2?
not watching
yes this movie has break new height......
I think it is a matter of time that all movies are going to be 3D....
the budget is like 300 million or more..
i couldnt watch it ytd cause only left front row seats..
It's very good but if you watch all of Cameron's previous movies it seems to incorporate all the themes inside and becomes repetitive, nothing new.
Terminator: Avatars, who are also human beings disguised in the Na'vi bodies
Aliens: The Marines, the equipment
Titanic: The forbidden love story
Throw all these themes into a Jurrasic Park / Matrix background and you get Avatar.
I still think District 9 is better than this show, maybe I had higher expectations of Ava. Overfocus on visuals, plot is draggy and tries to cram too much stuff in.
Definitely worth watching though since the CGI alone is worth your money

different leh. district 9 is cult, takes place in africa while avatar is hollywood, happens in pandora.
one has disgusting aliens serviced by african prostitutes while the other one has sexy aliens falling in love with each other.
definitely one of the best movies ever.
the 3d movie SUCKED...
watch alr eye fking pain (not only me, my frens got it too) plus i had a slight headache...
movie is nice but 3d is EPIC FAIL
i watching 2D later becos oni 2D got subtitles
if really that good then i will watch again on 3D
i watched 2D..gonna try it in 3D soon..
THIS IS OUR LAND!!! f*k the sky people!!
damn good with damn good message
hmm. i don't know.. i'm just very enchanted by the movie. apart from the obvious stunning effects.
i like the way the love between jake and the princess grew and developed.
there's just something about that movie which stirs something primal in me, i just can't put a finger on it.
the love story, or the open ended way they ended the show which makes you wish you were there? no idea, but it's quite the movie experience for me. much better than batman dark knight (forgive me)
i thought the part where they were going to mate .
they would connect their hair..
i watched both the 2D and 3D
damn good lah
well, read so much about it, and was full of anticipation when I went in for this 3D movie.
Visually, it is awesome. Sadly, while it is 3D, it did not grip me like when i first watch my 3D movies - Jaws, where it really make people go "wow" and stretch our hands to try to "feel". For me, yes, it is mind-blowing, but rather passive.
Storyline, I find this portion a bit weak, most of it, was dragging its feet, and we can almost guess the story. I guess the story is trying to tie-in with the all the nature talk at the moment, and how mother nature is fighting back.
well, the visual effect is worth the ticket price alone, but just maybe, if the storyline were boosted just a bit.
uhh.. i thought it was ham-fisted... typical of Cameron where he rams it down your throat...
cool visuals though..
while it was predictable from the get-go, one of the kakis i went to watch with thought he was watching a CGI Dances with Wolves
the usual stereotypes were in the movie... gung-ho, no-brained Jarheads led by bloodthirsty testosterone-poisoned maniac, corporate mofo who doesn't give a shit and wants profits, foul-mouthed "misfit" scientist... all were in there...
oh... we watched it in 3D.. at the end of the movie, my master right eye hurt like blazes...
Have you ever wonder why during the attack on the home tree, the arrow cannot pierce the windscreen of the sky people, but during the last battle, their arrow can penetrate?

At the hometree, they were shooting from the ground upwards, together with the strong wind, their arrows could not pierce through.
Then during the last battle, they were flying down from the sky at high speed, so i guess there was enough energy/force strong enough for the arrow to pierce through the glass.
