  surprisingly it has taken 2 years for city of men to reach local shores.

  sequel to city of god, a brazilian crime drama made in 2002... in city of men, best friends Acerola and Laranjinha live in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, and have been raised without their fathers. they are turning eighteen as a war between rival drug gang begins around them. each discovers things about his missing father that will compromise their solid friendship.

  I really wanted to like this film but it's marketing really quite fail.

   

  By linking it to "City of God", which the film is totally not, it just falls very short of expectations. I liked the content but the problem is, these sort of films are now a dime a dozen. It is a rehash on the themes in "City of God" except less flashy.

   

  The editing was way tighter in "City of God" too
