So, because I have too much free time, and because I love movies and love to discuss them with friends and good movie lovers alike, I thought it would be appropriate if I update/blog about the supposed moviepocalypse that's long arrived in the pits of Hollywood.
What's the moviepocalypse, you asked?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you feel like movies are getting sh**tier each week?
Does the news of remakes, reboots and rip-offs leave you feeling like a red-headed stepchild?
Are the TV shows, cartoons, comics and original movies that made your childhood feel like a magical adventure calling you in the middle of the night from a street corner pay phone asking for rescue from the H-wood pimp that's wh*ring them out to make quick, easy, brainless, creative-free profit?
If these questions have put into words the puke-alarm feeling that’s been slowly building in your gut over the last 4 cinematic years, then smile, you’re not crazy or pregnant (though you still might have the herp)... you’ve just been sensing the MOVIEPOCALYPSE!
It’s the end of GOOD MOVIES and movies made with a fresh creative spirit.
Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead - No, it isn't a pun on the title - it is the title; the title that has reference to that of a horror video game about zombies.
Pray, everyone... just, pray. The end of good movies is near. Let's stand together and support movies with strong connectable characters and relatable, emotional stories. Cinema is more than a money-making medium - it is a place where people of greater intelligence educate us in the ways of human life.
Long live good movies!
