Another adaption from the comic and cartoon series. This is another highly anticipated action movie this year and also going to make the fan boys happy!
Synopsis:
Director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, Van Helsing) adapts the beloved Hasbro G.I. Joe toy line with this Paramount Pictures production that pits the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity against the evil forces of the organization known as Cobra. Dennis Quaid and Channing Tatum star as General Hawk and Duke Hauser, respectively, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marlon Wayans leading the rest of the cast, including Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Rachel Nichols, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Asian film star Lee Byung-hun. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide

Any fans here? What do you think this?
I'm sure its gonna be another failure like Transformers. When I mean failure, I mean it won't go with the fans of the cartoon.
From initial screening reports, the reviewers gave some positive feedbacks even though they thought the movie would sink.
"The movie didn't make
a lasting impression on me and while they set up a sequel, I have a
hard time mustering any enthusiasm for it. However, I have a feeling
that the movie is loud, violent, and pop-corny enough (is that even a
word?) for the general populace to enjoy."
Well, there you go. Provided these guys are not plants(although i
seriously doubt it) it looks like "Joe" may not suck quite as much
after all!"

Fully agree.
But nice fictional action flick.

Joe fan when I was a kid, partly because the other Hasbro product in transforming robots had more appeal to a boy than a bunch of plastic figures in military garb. The cartoon series too didn’t convert me either, as it was up against a whole host of classic series from MASK to Silverhawks, Centurion to Starcomm. Ahh, the wonderful 80s to be growing up…

They are making a movie based on the View-Master, too. That is how low the creative bar has sunk to.
As for my opinion about G.I. Joe, it's a cartoon adaptation that doesn't try to be anything more than the source material was - illogical and action packed. I deem this Rental Worthy only. Don't watch it on the theater - wait for the DVD to come out at a rental store.

I was wondering if they would do a MASK or Centurion movie.
With the CGI technology they have now, creating these types of movies would be a piece of cake.
The movie is not bad for an action pack movie.
Watched it today.
