Finally! An original idea after so many years of cinematic sh*t! Owes its inspiration from the 1988 movie, "Alien Nation," but D9 is definitely better.

It's not everyday for a new filmmaker that one gets a renowned, establish peer admire your work enough to invest 30 million dollars in your feature film. What does one do with that kind of money? Make the most inventive film that one can of course, and District 9 cements itself as a contemporary classic, totally inventive and a definite breath of fresh air that puts all the recent mind-numbing, overblown big-budgeted same ol' hollow blockbusters all to shame with superb visuals and an excellent story that doesn't insult your intelligence. I haven't got the time to watch it, definatly a great movie by Peter Jackson! You should know him from LoTR and King Kong.

lots of people now are so used to being forcefed drivel like Transformers and GI Joe that they don't have the attention span to watch a good movie..
either that or they refuse to watch a good movie..
i'll go try to watch this soon... i hope i'm not disappointed after all the great reviews it got

I just came back from the show, great plot and all!
the .50 cal sniper rifle part was awesome!
Everything was great! Tho it really lacked the gore, IMO.
NEEDS MORE GORE!4.5/5
