The family's mundane life revolves around themselves and the apartment they live in. All is well it seems until Jyothika stumbles upoun an old diary of her husband's, little knowing that her life was about to change totally. It depicts the shocking events of her husbands past love life that led to their arranged marriage. Not knowing what to do with the present and the future, like any sincere wife, Jyothika goes in search of her husband's former love. What follows is a surprising series of events that gives this entire love-triangle-of-sorts, twists and turns.The film's score and soundtrack was composed by A. R. Rahman. The soundtrack features 7 songs composed by Rahman.The song sequences are picturized in the beautiful cities like New York , Luzern and Zurich of Switzerland.The lead pair of this film are married couples in real life and their performance in this film is as real as it can get. .The concept of lost-and-found love is refreshingly brought to the audience through the convincing performances and moody music set pieces.Sillunu Oru Kaadhal won two awards at the 54th Filmfare Awards for best music and cast performance
