In 1959, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one mysterious girl fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead. Fifty years later, a new generation of students examines the capsules contents and the girls cryptic message ends up in the hands of young CALEB MYLES. It's been quite a while since Alex Proyas was at the helm of a film, the last being I, Robot back in 2004 where he adapted Isaac Asimov's science fiction classic of the same name. He continues to dwell in the sci-fi realm again with Knowing, with leading man Nicolas Cage plucked from his National Treasure roots because his character here, MIT professor John Koestler, follows in the tradition of running around everywhere in search for answers and the truth. This show is a pretty good show. The mystery and coding. Especially when Nicolas Cage is acting. His previous shows, National Treasure 1 and 2 is very good, I have to say.
The show is also scary at some parts. However, the ending sucks. I expected something better. And the visual effects is superb. Real-live looking plane crash.
Overall, the show is very interesting and good to watch.
