The live-action Hollywood adaptation from the sensational anime of the same title, “Blood: The Last Vampire” is an action filled fantasy surrounding a vampire hunter named Saya (played by My Sassy Girl’s Jeon Ji-Hyun).
[u]Synopsis[/u]
Saya is sent to an American military base in post-WWII Tokyo on an undercover mission, where she finds the perfect opportunity for a grand showdown against the highest ranking vampire on Earth.When the anime was released in the US in 2000, it became a huge hit and spawned several manga sequels, novel adaptations, video games and even a 50-parts anime series.
You can look forward to action sequences brought to you by renowned martial arts choreographer Corey Yuen who worked on such thrilling blockbusters as "X-men” and the "Transporter” franchise.
Directed by Chris Nahon ("Kiss of the Dragon"), and produced by Bill Kong ("Lust, Caution”, “Fearless”, “House of the Flying Daggers” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”), "Blood: The Last Vampire" promises heart pounding sword fights and pulse racing action.

Gianna Jun, lead actress of Blood: The Last Vampire, is coming to town on the 20th May, as part of a 2 day trip to promote this upcoming release film. She will be arriving in Singapore on Korean Air, KE641 at 9:20P.M. A celebrated artiste over Asia, the Korean actress is known by the name Jeon Ji-Hyun at home and in her earlier movies, the most notable one being My Sassy Girl (2001). During the 2-day stopover, Gianna will be attending a Press Conference at Capella Singapore, making a mall appearance at Bugis Junction and lastly gracing the Gala Premiere of at Cathay Orchard Cineleisure.

Jeon Ji-Hyun, now known as Gianna for this international film, trades her demure demeanour for something that action junkies will probably find reason to cheer about - having a beautiful heroine kick some serious butt with her near-invincibility and possessing a blade that cuts through vampires, monsters and demons like hot knife through butter. But seriously, do we need another half-vampire, half-human hybrid being for the big screen, even though this has anime roots?
