i rem a friend once said that, 'Why waste or spend money to scare yourself?'
probably he's not the type who likes horror movies.
but then i thought that's what the audiences want.. the kick.. the surround sounds in the theatre.... the thrill.. the scare.... then sometimes the people in the theatre will scream together when a particular scene appears.

ME TOO!
I love horror movies AND comedy movies. Wow, two genres that oppose each other -.-
It's not that scary, y'know. I actually find The Maid (Kelvin Tong) the scariest movie I've watched. Chucky... I laugh at the toy. Who knew that Chucky would explode in the end, YEAH!!! What else... I tried watching Friday The 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street (or rather playing their games on different websites) and I didn't find it scary. We all know perfectly well that Chucky, Freddy, and Jason aren't real. So are all the other monsters/ghosts/invisible murderers we see. It's just a plain movie.
But for The Maid, I didn't see anything fake. I believe in the hungry ghost month and they did such a good perfomance. That was really, seriously, singaporean.
I think 'Shutter' is not bad... see it on Channel U.
