In this film, Tony Jaa returns to his trademark style of ultimate fighting in several dangerous scenes: including the fight on the backs of tens of elephants and the fight with ancient weapons so fast, you cant blink. The grand and gorgeous sets created are also expected to awe every audience.
The film tells the story of betrayal, revenge and the rebirth of a legend. It starts with the assassinations of Lord Sehadecho, the Kings loyal advisor and his wife, Lady Plai, by the treacherous Lord Rajasena, in front of Tien, the couples only son.
Tien managed to escape, with deep anger and vengeance in mind. Soon, Tien meets Chernang, the leader of the Garuda Wing militia, who raised Tien as his godson. Tien grows up studying not only martial arts, but also of explosives, magic spells and other guerilla strategies. Tien then sets out to seek revenge for his parents, only to be caught and severely tortured.
Fortunately, Tien was saved by Sage Bua, a Khon instructor whom he used to stay with when he was young. Sage Bua teaches Tien how to control his body and the power of a serene mind. Through the dharma puzzle hidden within Sage Buas teaching of Khon, an ancient Thai art, Tien finally discovers himself, as if he has been reborn.
With his newfound spirit, Tien combines his martial arts skills with the art of Khon, creating a new fighting technique so elegant but powerful like no one has seen before.

yay for Ong Bak!
i love the 1st movie
he looks like a cave man from that picture...
Will definitely watch this movie despite not having watched any movie in the cinema for months . Hollywood movie don't always catch my attention .
There's no doubt I've been a fan of movies starring Tony Jaa with the likes of Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong being showcases for the Muay Thai brand of martial arts, and I fondly remember those hard hitting action sequences that left me gaping, as well as the numerous replays just to drum it through to you that it's all Jaa and it's all as incredible as can be. And who can forget the latter film with that amazing single take where Jaa had to pound his way from the bottom of a building right to the top? Ong Bak 2 is a film fans like myself have been waiting for, despite it being marred by some really strange controversy, which also included Jaa walking off the set and disapperaring from production. But everything's been sorted I guess, for the film to be completed and finally released.

can't get enough of violent action movies?
Watched this yesterday.
Boring to me! What a disappointment.
why got samurai and ninja one?
i'd rather enjoy Kong Bak... heart-stopping, artery-clogging deliciousness

west lake kong bak?
damn disappointed.
these are the issues i had with it:
title - in ong bak 1 - the statue's name is ong bak, this movie has nothing to do with the statue at all.
action - tony jaa is fully trained in muay baron, making him do chinese kungfu is a mockery to the chinese kungfu, because he is unable to show the grace and power behind it, all his chinese kungfu moves has elements of muay thai in it.
plot - damn dumb plot, and lousy supporting cast. nuff said
ending - wtf, even though in tom yeong gung's ending, tony jaa also died, but it leaves a deep impression, all the bad guys were dealt with. this ending really was wtf. tony was pwned all the way.
lastly. main character's name is 天. who the fuck names their main character 天????
1st movie was much nicer :D
Ah... Ong Bak 2... How should i summerise this.... Oh, i know. A total waste of time and money.
Like Ong Bak 1, Ong Bak 2 is jammed-packed with action. However the difference that makes this film a failure as compared to Ong Bak 1 would be that the scriptwriters actually bitten off more than they can chew. So all that's left is actually chunks of storylines all over the movie.
The movie actually tries to incooperate too many elements and are not able to develop them properly.
It has a love interest that begins as a childhood sweetheart, leads to a glance and ends at that.
The man who Tian, Tony Jaa's role, is seeking to avenge his father just so happens to be Tian's foster father. Yup, thats the outcome, not the build-up of the storyline.
The movie was very hastily ended.
I give it 1/10 stars
just watched it on youtube ,nice twist at the end, really didn't expect it cos all his other movies are really straight forward. However I dun get the ending scene with the statue.
Overall its a pretty good movie if u like the fighting parts.

it's nice for me since i love the fighting.
