  REC revolves around a television reporter, ngela, and her cameraman, Pablo, who cover the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations. The firehouse receives a call from an old lady trapped in her house. When they arrive, and the firemen and the police break down the door, the old lady suddenly attacks and bites one of the policemen, and it is revealed that an unknown but virulent disease is infecting people, causing them to turn into zombies.
  
  The police and the military quarantine the building and the camera crew is trapped inside, constantly recording the mayhem that ensues. By the finale they uncover the horrifying truth of the situation and realise the infection may be more than a mere virus.

  i saw the trailer..
  it's pretty "blair witch project" (everything is via the camera-man's lens, so when he runs, the whole damn screen shake like phuck)
  
  but damn exciting..
  makes u want to keep watching to know wats happening.....
  
  and partly bcos it's in spanish, u gotta concentrate on the subs

  Aww... Don't say that. It looks like a combination of Cloverfield and I am Legend, two great movies (maybe only to me ). But I'll wait for the American remake of this movie. Spanish doesn't sound appealing.

  REC has been making its rounds in the festival and cinema circuit, while us folks here have to sit around and twiddle our thumbs, wondering if it'll ever make it to our shores. Hollywood reckoned it was worthy of a remake, and they did Quarantine, which was surprisingly made quite fast, and was penned to be released here as well. Guess someone got smart and decided to pre-empt that remake version with the original, and for some, the decision will be whether to double dip, stick to the original, or the remake when it's released at the end of the month.

  Cloverfield use those Player to record, they non-professional lah!

  But this one is camera man leh! U wont feel giddy trust me! Exciting movie

  I watch cloverfield i puked at half the movie,

  this one i survived till 3/4 of the movie b4 puking. my friends all keep laughing at moi say i weak :(

  i don't even need to watch a hollywood remake to know that [REC] is the more stylish version of the two.

  for horror films it's never the plot, but the pacing and timing of the suspense. what good horror film has hollywood made in recent years? absolute zilch.

  not so nice ler, i watched....
