first of all i must say im quite disappointed with this movie and its definitely not worth the tickets.
Perhaps its just me but since young i have been interested in war history during the three kingdoms era, i have played three kingdoms games on pc and read and watch abit of shows, this show has twisted historical facts despite using historical figures. Sure it may appeal to some audience who have no knowledge of history but i find it hard to accept that they twisted the history so much! ( zhao yun joined as a regular soldier and zhugeliang just join out of nowhere and many more )
Nevermind that a different plot from history that is fresh, it just seems so commercialised that they just want to use a famous historical event to film a movie, it only revolves around Andy Lau as one of the 5 tiger generals ( the other 4 were kind of ignored! especially ma chao and huang chong ) , hong jin bao and maggie Q both whom's characters dont historically exist. The girl that played puppets in zhaoyun's hometown seems very extra as well. I actually question her existence.
Lastly, another part in which i find funny is how caoying ( maggie Q ) won the battle in the finale. It is where she actually won by planting explosives on horses and shooting arrows onto them, how tactical genius is that? I think it is kind of insulting to caocao.
So for those who have some knowledge of the three kingdoms, i suggest avoid this movie if you do not want to be disappointed. I hope Red Cliffs would be better.
hmmm..after reading this...ok...straight to dvd ba..me althought a so into romance..but i played the game on pc and ps..so roughly knew chracter here and there..

i am also a huge fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. And yeah, this movie is in a way a disappointment. The original story is changed by a lot. Thus they commited a lot of errors in the chronological order of events. However, i find that Andy Lau acted quite well. The movie's costumes and weapons are neatly designed. The battle scenes are pretty impressive as well, though there is still much room for improvement.
i really hope that Red Cliffs will be better, but Takeshi Kaneshiro is playing the role of Zhuge Liang. i find that there is a huge contrast in his role in "Warlords" and the role of Zhuge Liang. In "warlords", his role is rather simple-minded. Then suddenly he become the Zhuge Liang...
Well lets hope for the best.
i don like de film! because all de actors are from Hongkong!I prefer mainland, korea and Japan actors!
caocao 's son married a caucasian ?
rubbish !
the history has been twisted! zhao yun was not died in battle cos he actually laugh to death.
as aged zhao yun was having his birthday, there was a general who praised him dat although zhao went countless battle, he had nvr have scar or hurt himself. tis made zhao happy.
on the quiet night when he was bathing, he could admire himself though the reflection of the water n he saw there were smoothness on his figure, zhao was laughing n died on the spot.
æ°”æ»å‘¨ä¿žï¼Œç¬‘æ»èµµäº‘!
waste of time, don't bother ....
I went to watch it for maggie q, and even that was a disappointment
no head no tail de movie..nb
but maggie Q is.... +1
de movie is extremly stupid and horrible
maggi looked horrible, nth impressive about the armies..seem like they are under small budget kenot hire that many extras for soldiers.
the two other tiger generals look so confused and sour faced, like cincai cincai one. Only Guan and the other one look decent..like from dynasty warriors.
And sammo is just a useless fark. Why did they even bother put his character in.

kinda agreed with u, really dun understand why they had to use expolsives and sarcrifice their own since they already more troops than Andy. Though Maggie is a eye candy but she is really out of place in the movie since there aren't really any female warriors during the three kingdoms period.somemore she can outsmart Zhuge Liang and fought so well, I m like wtf?
de actor of Guanyu is too old ready(no eyebrows)
and he is eeeeeeeextremly fat and ugly~~
I think the romance part is totally useless.
