  Director Royston Tan starts work on latest movie

  SINGAPORE: A prayer ceremony on Sunday marked the start of Singapore director Royston Tan’s latest film.

  The movie, which has a working title of "1028", is about a singer and the man in her life. It will be played out against a backdrop of Hokkien songs.

  Leading actors in the film include Liu Ling Ling, Qi Yu Wu and Mindee Ong. Tan directed the same cast in last year’s well—received movie, "881".

  The new film will hit cinema screens in August. It is co—produced by MediaCorp Raintree Pictures, 10twentyeight and Infinite Frameworks. — CNA/so
