In my secondary school days, prolly 9 years ago (hai... 想当年), Catherine Lim came by for a talk one time and she narrated 3 stories. One of which was very similar to the storyline seen in this trailer. I'm not so sure if she published those stories in the end but one was of this leap year thing (i think that version was set in the 80s, included the hotel new world collapse with a bitter sweet ending), second one was of a woman with tattoos filled all over her body falling in love with another man after her husband died and I forgot the 3rd one.
She is a very engaging storyteller on stage.
Yeah, she came to my school too her stories were pretty good

Given her success, I'm sure Catherine Lim was invited to more than one secondary school during her hey days.
If all stories are biographies of the author himself, I wonder if Catherine Lim had a similar affair in her younger years.
Merry christmas mr lawrence sounds really good too, it's been on replay mode since yesterday.

u cannot compare these two genres of movies leh... that's like comparing strawberry & durian leh...i watched both & i enjoyed it!
most touching scene was at the end... when the two men kinda "set her free" to him...

mi listened to merry xmas mr lawrence before.. but it was watergate's "heart of asia" anyway watched it tdy very nice show it feels like another local book, the teenage textbook, tat was succesfully transported onto film windows cafe at club street!
