Just watched the show too... I think Takeshi as zhuge kong ming still look abit wrong to me.. As for the rest of the characters, Hu Jun as Zhao Yun and Chang Chen as Sun Quan is quite a good choice :)
wow, there's gonna be a part 2? is it true?
yup, my friend said so.
i haven't watch yet.
why everyone kept saying takeshi as zhuge liang looks wrong?? i thought it was fine. then again, i never watched romance of 3 kingdoms and know abt the story anyway.
lots of meaningless imageries .....
the fight scenes were a bit incoherent, unlike woo's action sequences in other movies ....
his trademark spurting blood is more detailed this time .....
but though I'm sure he didn't intend it to be a comedy, watching it in the theatre somehow gives it that effect at lots of parts ....
5/10 .... better to wait and watch both parts together ....
and ..... what's with john woo and birds ? ...

Gan Xing also acted as Lt. Ito in Letters From Iwo Jima. He's a a Jap,that explains his funny Mandarin.
And did I see Akane Souma for a few seconds(as Lin Zhi Ling's maid) in the show?

i agree... bloody unreal...
and lin chiling's role was so damn unneeded... waste of space... could have added in more exciting war scenes...
the 八阵 that scene is lol leh
the 刘备 kah kia like superheroes.
I wannna watch.
a bit disappointing.

when chinese directors try to make a movie poetic, it becomes meaningless .......
like what I said about other movies, like golden flowers et al ......
pattern liao liao, but really not much depth .....
as for the fight scenes, my indian friend who watched it with me commented: the munjens are starting to make movies like bollywood ! .... so nuff said ......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rbx9oPfFNFs
can anyone confirm.. there's alot of scenes missing when i watched in the cinema.

Have you seen the R21 "Lust Caution", "Hero" And "Couching Tiger Hidden Dragon"?
These movies by chinese directors were "poetic" and had way more depth than most Hollywood movies.
Stop watching movies just for the action scenes, special effects!!! They rot the brain man.

yes, I have watched all three ...... this is the first time I heard "lust caution" or crouching tiger described as having "depth" ....
can you eludicate on the elements that makes "lust caution" full of "depth" for you ? ..... the sex scenes ? .... a naked tang wei ? ....
or what about "red cliff" ? .... zhuge liang fanning his pigeons after their bath ? .... tony leung asking if they'll catch a cold ? ..... I dunno about you mate, but I was laughing at this and many other scenes, as were the rest of the cinema .... or tell me what the gu zheng music sounded like to you ? ..... do you dare say you appreciated the meaningless strummings ? ....
not bad ... maybe we are catching up with bollywood ....
that's what happens when a movie tries to be so many things at once ...... a bollywood style extravaganza ......
still 5/10 !
I still like the verbal sparring.

ZhuGeLiang was only 20+ during the battle of red cliff. What old are you talking about? Perhaps you should rest more on the history before commenting blindly. Although you are right about your latter.

Same sentiments to this part one.....
Like nothing much...
