It's been a long and almost 3 year wait for the coming of Stephen Chow's new movie CJ7, on the heels of his international success with Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, both of which were adapted/parodied/copied in the other two competitive movies this holiday season in Kung Fu Dunk and Ah Long Pte Ltd. If imitation is the best form of flattery, that goes to show who's the boss and who calls the shots in the innovation and creativity departments, that there's only one force to be reckoned with in drafting comedy that appeals to the world.

I won't be watching this at the cinema anyway. Boycott mandarin version. Mandarin spoils the dialogues. Awaiting for DVD to be out. hehehe

But I think the dubbing might spoil it...? Anyway I loved Xu Jiao's acting la. Plus the laughter u can get with the alien 'dog' face. Too cute to be true. Hahahhaa..

yeah, as always, dubbing a stephen chow movie in chinese always takes aways all the puns in cantonese etc...

Saw already. I miss Stephen Chow previous style... The movie not as funny as all his previous.

But really surprise his "son" in the movie is actually a girl. She really look and act like a boy.

a pity dat tis movie is very short. hope dat there is a sequel for tis movie cos the movie never explain why the alien come to earth.

I prefer Cj7 to Ah long ptd ltd...It is entirely up to personal taste.. certain scenes of the show are really quite touching

The storyline seems to be a rojak of lots of movie.

Lacking in originality and creativity as compared to Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu.

It is time Stephen Chow take a break and come up with new ideas.

CJ7 is a simple, heartwarming movie for the family.
