I actually found this movie pretty good.
It is unique and it's action-packed - that is, if you can get pass the first boring 20 minutes.
The constant shaking of the camera doesn't affect me. But the movie is too darn short.
4/5 from me. Perhaps they should do a remake of the movie without the shaking and from the military's perspective so that it would be more interesting. -

I was there at GV Vivo last week. As I was purchasing my tickets, the counter staff informed me that many people actually complained abt the movie being too jerky and giddy and wanted refunds. She said it was her job to warn customers that it may not be a good movie.
I watched it anyway. And it was jerky indeed. But a breath of fresh air.

they got a notice to warn people about refunding issue all these, i bought two ticket and got $2 discount next time .
i was so dizzy, during the first 10-30min the movie is so boring. after that, quite nice leh
. and seem like got part2? before they die, they got say something.
PS : And Ahlong Pte Ltd Trailer very funny, i think must watch!

wah, some ppl really can stand the jerky moves leh... maybe they are pilot trained so can tahan the shaky movies...
for me, i think might be one of the lousy show in 2008. Dun know the whole show is doing, just feel like puking through out... hahahaha. -
Personally, I don't find anything wrong with the shakey camera...in fact, I thought that it was rather stable...
I wish the next movie will be shot in a conventional format, from the military point of view.. -
After finishing the whole thing which most part is dizziness and shaky scene i was asking "you call this movie"? I feel suck after watching it and ask my friends not to waste their money and time.

I think the movie is those hate it or loved it kind of film...

anyway for those who had watch it, do some research and have some fun finding the "head" and the "tail" for this story.
apparently there's some loose nuggets around the internet with regards to this movie. so u can have some fun finding out where the monster came from and what happened.

The effects and al was great, have you guys read the manga prequel yet?
Did you saw the water splash at the end of the show near the boat?
Darn i love this movie, many people say they kena motion sickness but the only thing i felt was a bit of trauma coz it feels as if i'm really in the movie....somemore i watched it like at 11pm leh........

but, my puying got up so i just followed. lol.

i just switched to brainless mode and enjoyed the mayhem.
i guess the only irritating parts for me when nothing was happening.
like the first 1/2 hr and when they were waiting in the subway.

not really movie-worthy if you're looking for the usual blockbuster kind. It's pretty Indie, think it probably would have been better received if released as straight-to-video. All in all a pretty unique film.

coz basically they got no story to tell other than bombing here and shooting there........
whilst the 1st person point of view is better as they really do have a target which is to reunite with their loved ones and hopefully escape alive......
if taken from militray point of view i'm not sure if they can put romance, comedy etc. into it coz the event was an all of the sudden kinda event.......

Dude you can't be serious. I just think the concept is great but ruined in the hands of untalented people out to make a quick buck.
If it's not a monster movie, then why did JJ Abrams, a self proclaimed Godzilla fan say he wanted Cloverfield to be even more intense and scarier than the original flick?
If it is not a monster movie and Matt Reeves was supposed to focus on emotions, then why the lousy acting and self awareness?
Not here not there with no definite genre. Even as an experimental movie it sucked to the core.

i find the movie really awesome........even godzilla can't beat this......this movie to me was likea thriller ride.....

Hmm...this movie ah..mixed feelings about it. When i came out of the thearter i'm like oh shit i wasted 8 bucks.
On 1 hand, movie no head no tail. Some parts are so unbelivable (Severely Wounded girlfriend can tahan walking down 47 flights of stairs and more.. Helicopter trying to escape still fly so low for the monster to attack at..) that it's more funny than realistic. My eyes are so tired at some parts of the movie that i just shut them to rest for awhile.
On another point of view, cool thing is it's filmed entirely to put you in a first person point of view, like you are in the movie itself. Not only do they use the shaky camera technique to achieve this, the way they end so adruptly adds on to this experience as well. It's like as the characters die, you die with them so u hav no idea what happen to the monster in the end as well. Similarly, like the characters in the movie, we have no idea how this monster came from..etc
Oh ya the guy telling everyone at the party that his best friend and the girlfriend had sex is damn bastard la

Err...ist't that the whole bloody point of the mvoie? To put you in the same shoes as the movie characters? To ensure that you don't have more info than the people running away.
