just watched.. starting boring.. later better.. not bad... but really the shaking some may not tahan.. i felt a little unwell.. feels a little short the movie..

Cloverfield is so badly done and such a no brainer that JJ Abrams and The Marketing Department were forced to rely on tacky tactics to sell the show. I mean, letÂ’s face it. If you have good stuff, you will exploit all the best bits to sell your movie. YouÂ’ll lie, cheat and steal to sell the show. And guess what, those ambiguous trailers were all the best bits. Know why they didnÂ’t show us the monster in the trailer? Because no one wouldnÂ’t have bothered watching it at all if they knew what the monster was all about - just another monster.
We used to be so much smarter as consumers.
If it was true that the entire film was shot on a DV camcorder, I feel painfully bad for anybody on board that production. The lights were decently rigged with due respect to the craft itself and there was decent consideration from production design to art direction and Matt Reeves had to go disfigure and insult everybody's professional integrity.
If anybody thinks falling for I Am Legend was stupid enough, falling for Cloverfield again warrants a ticket straight down to hell. It is a real rip off and a goddamn misfire. Wait for a pirated version to surface on the Internet and you will feel very smart for having skipped the big screen. I cannot imagine why anybody will be impressed with this movie unless itÂ’s their first time watching a movie.
Why is it so difficult to act properly? Why the self awareness at all? Why on earth are they acting the way they think people are supposed to be acting in this scenario?
And I bet the writer had a real easy time coming up with a script, all he had to do was inject “We gotta get outta here!” a few hundred times (as many times as it takes to fill up the script).
If anybody is expecting to see yet another dramatic, earth shattering blockbuster on Armageddon, bombing, explosions and chicks with boobs running for their lives - a popcorn flick or a big movie, they won't find it.
If anybody is expecting to see an intimate, personal view on the sadness and tragedy the victims of a catastrophic event are made to go through - they wonÂ’t.
If they are thinking, hey at least the sex scene could be good - there was none.
But the film is too dumb to offend anything except your intelligence, and the monster does cut a satisfying swath through the cast, so your only complaint may be, What took it so long? -
this movie is like the blair witch project but with a higher budget.
btw when i said previously the movie was shot with a DV cam, what i meant was shot in DV cam "style" aka shaky camera.
and the movie is too short, less than 1.5 hours long.
save your $8 people, use it on something more worthwhile. -
I will see the movie for myself before making any judgement...given that the reviews are VERY VERY divided.
ANd please, many people already said that the movie is the size of godzilla.
The korean movie monster is like....7-8 meters tall...
Just a quick note, the camera man is called HUD ( Heads Up Display), AKA the name for first person shooter view. -

this movie mei tou mei wei one. aiyo. suddenly pops out one monster and end with a DANG. lol. and the cam is shaking profusely. want to watch also cannot watch properly. overall the movie suck. =)

the movie sucks to the core.
worst movie i have watched in my life, the camera shakes throughout the show, dam dizzy.
what made it worse is cloverfield has nothing to do with the show, or rather i dont see a link in it.
The guy sitting beside me was talking to himself throughout the movie, saying things like, " shit, it shouldnt be happening this way ", " thats a lousy plot ", nb ! He was farking noisy, i kept sayign shhh shhh, but he still keep talking to himself.
Anyway movie i rate, 0.1 / 10. -
This is the first movie that i seen alot ppl.. About 20 ppl leaving before the show ended..
Went out to give my mind a break midway and saw one gal who looked as though she just finished a rollar coaster ride.. her bf was cursing the movie... then when on my way back from the toilet.. Saw another lady probably with her daughter.. Both look sick too
Final conclusion: Movie is okie but the story line is not really special. But it is definitely NOT for ppl with motion sickness. Luckily the movie is only 85 mins.. I nearly fainted inside the theatre

IMBD says Cloverfield was shot on HD... but what I meant was, at least intersperse the shaky "DV Cam recording" with some establishing shots of Manhattan, bird's eye view of the chaos, soldiers dashing about with guns etc.
Couldn't have been that tough. -

if they had filmed it in the conventional way with no shaky cam it wld have been a good show.
and cloverfield is the designation of the military operation against the monster -
hurhur....i just watched the trailers on tv and knew that it wasnt worth watching.
even my mom said 'what the hell is this movie abt?????'
