C'est la vie... human are always suspecting each other, making use of each other, struggling with power...
Btw, I watch the movie, the movie is nice... I used to hate all the 3 actors for poor and lousy/fake acting skills... but after watching this movie, I think the acting skills of the 3 actors are better than I expected...
I recommend the folks to watch... -
Just watched it,
if you are watching it just for the acting/drama action,it is very nice.
But the story line is very fake cos after watching i read up abit of this taiping rebellion on the net.The characters are all changed,those 3 person,Jiang Wu Yang,Zhao Er Hu and Pang Qing Yun are not real historical figures.
108 men? Copy from Water margin aka shui hu zhuan. In water margin,the liang shan 108 brothers were initially bandits who then later pledge allegiance to the song dynasty and in the end were betrayed and killed off. A major plot hole shown when Andy lau said that he got 800 men? when initially said only 108 men?
3 men swearing brotherhood? Copy from Romance of the 3 kingdom, (Liu Bei,Guan Yu,Zhang Fei)(What i read is that in real history was 4 men swearing brotherhood).
Also the war scene seems to be mostly copied from some other war movies.Hmm saving private ryan,enemies at the gates,gladiator,the last samurai come into mind while watching this show.But credit where it is due,even if it is copied,it is done in a nice manner. -

Like a chinese version of Last Samurai leh
Overall, not a bad show but very heavy ah the heart after that.

but first andy lau got to die first... cos andy lau's the power behind the 3...
just so happen takeshi tot jet li killed andy lau cos of the woman.... that wasn't the case... think he killed andy cos he wanna guarantee his office...
takeshi is a scape goat i think...
