For the film buff in all of us, the Asian Festival of 1st Films (AFFF) is not to be missed! This year, out of 500 entries from across 50 countries, 21 films and documentaries have been nominated across 9 award categories. An additional 6 films have been selected in the out-of-competition section. The nominated films will be screened, from 27th Nov till 3rd Dec, at Golden Village Vivo City cinemas, The Arts House and House at Dempsey Hill. The festival culminates in a grand award ceremony graced by international celebrities on 4th Dec 2007.
The only festival of its kind in the world, the AFFF celebrates the excellence of first-time producers, directors, writers, cinematographers, actors and documentary makers from the Asia Pacific diaspora. Held in conjunction with the Asia Media Festival and Asian Media Market, AFFF boasts of hosting eminent personalities from the global film industry who will be part of the selection committee and jury to select the winning films and documentaries. Past winning films have went on to be screened and won awards at the likes of Cannes, Sundance, Berlin and other noted Film Festivals around the world.
