it is about one of the most wonderful movies i've ever watched..
the role was made for Bill Murray.. no one else could have pulled off this role with his deadpan look...
a tale of a burnt out and cynical American actor contracted to do a Suntory Whiskey commercial in Japan, where he runs full-on into a culture completely alien to him.. he's lost, alone, bewildered...
and also the tale of a photographer's wife, left neglected in a hotel room when her husband runs off on shoots.. bored, alone and also lost..
they find each other and a friendship blossoms...
and from there, they go on an exhilarating adventure in a strange land together.. finding friendship and maybe a spiritual understanding between very different, yet similar personalities...
a wonderful movie..

i've just finished watching itttt!!!!!
the ending kinda spolt it tho...=\
wish he didnt see her in the streets and well...that part...
the language barrier. the 'special' treatment foreigners get from random locals and hosts. the 'lost' feeling. staring out from hotel/hostels/wherever windows. staring at subway maps. visiting 'tourist areas' alone at odd times of the year. random conversations with other random non-locals and locals. and watching tv in foreign languages! HAHAHA. or dubbed english movies. and finding english movies IN english but realizing that u have to PAY for it and guilty of viewing another country/culture/etc negatively...etc....so many memories........so many hellos so many good byes.........if you travel a lot for non-fun-vacation reasons, this one's for u! not entirely. but there will be bits that are.....
too bad no bars with naked dancing women
and no jetlag HAH! and erm...crying on the second day...and never been in a hotel as 'grand' as that one -
