Beowulf

Based on the epic poem, the film is about a man who comes to Heorot in order to rid it of Grendel, the monstrosity who terrorizes it. What he does not expect is Grendel's Mother.
While most of the film remains true to the original poem, other elements, such as the dialogue, the emphasized hubris of Beowulf and Hrothgar, the perceived hedonism in Heorot, the span of time before Beowulf fights the dragon, Grendel's motive for attacking Heorot and the role of Grendel's mother seem to deviate from the original poem.

Robert Zemeckis had directed a handful of movie which I have enjoyed over the years, with what I thought to be one of the best trilogies out there with Back to the Future (the Power of Love anyone?), and a couple of Tom Hanks movies like Forrest Gump and Cast Away, and teaming with Hanks to make The Polar Express, where Zemeckis ventures into the territory of motion capture animation. He continues that effort with Beowulf, a take on the legendary warrior now given the spin by writers Neil Gaiman (whose Stardust is still playing in theatres) and Roger Avary.

yeah..its quite boring if u arent interested in norse mythology or those myths and legends..
in the movie theres a queen i seriously think she looks like shrek. -

The movie is no where near "300" the movie. It might be better if they use real person instead of computer graphics.
I find it the story draggy. Dun waste ur money on a weekend. -

Singaporeans seems to be the only group of people hating it. Personally I think it's nice.
And it is supposed to be shown in IMAX 3D, but I dunno will our science centre even screen a IMAX NC-16 movie... -

Maybe Cause Beowulf is based on a poet/myth which only westerners like and asian hate it...then too many singaporeans hate it.
But overall, compared to all the films in this month, Beowulf is quite nice.
Better than wasting money on some stupid Bee movie.
And Beowulf is PG in US and other country by the way.
