Blood Diamond

Set against the backdrop of civil war and chaos in 1990's Sierra Leone, Danny Archer, a South African mercenary, and Solomon Vandy, a Mende fisherman are joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond that can transform their lives. While in prison for smuggling, Archer learns that Solomon--who was taken from his family and forced to work in the diamond fields--has found and hidden the extraordinary rough stone. With the help of Maddy Bowen, an American journalist whose idealism is tempered by a deepening connection with Archer, the two men embark on a trek through rebel territory, a journey that could save Solomon's family and give Archer the second chance he thought he would never have.

Good story, Leonardo di caprio gives an awesome performance.
He even won a golden globe for it for best actor in drama. -

I am a sucker for happy comedies and good endings. -
Tip of advice is to empty your bladders before you catch it, movie is close to 2hrs 20mins, you don't wish to leave your seats, coz every single minute of it is extremely gripping.

I wasn't so enthusiastic when I first saw the title, thought its another one of those gangland flicks, I didn't even know who were in the cast. I was bored at home so I just decided to give this movie which I thought was some gangland flick a shot. Then I read up the movie on the net about it being some true story thing. Then I was even more turned off, but I really had nothing to do, so I watched it and wow.
Another good film I recommend wasn't aired in singapore. So I didn't bother, jennifer aniston starred in it, she was "raped" in the movie. -

I totally agreed wif u dude. I told my gf the story and she say she will consider if next time she will want to buy diamond.
