I think they should have portayed them in the movie with breast plates, like in real history.
They had archers for back up also (villagers) but also nvr put in the muvie. -

I think Andy Lau did well in Battle of Wits and should be Zhuge Kongming.

The project is based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms a vast 600-year-old novel by Luo Guangzhong that ranks as one of China's four most important pieces of literature, and also provided source material for John Woo's upcoming "Battle of Red Cliff."
For some scenes, the film will use 40,000 extras, twice that of Lord of the Rings.
Let's see how are they able to pull it off and exceed LOTR.

i like the oracle girl, Kelly Craig. search for her photos cannot get any results except for the 300 poster. wanted to do my 1st contribution to obf.
the batlle scenes very powerful. nice. kick ass.

Though, I still think that Leonidis shd have retreated when he had to chance to...Fighting bravely but blindly is not very smart... -

I think the spartans believe in the Oracle so when the speakers were brided with Persian gold to tell the Spartans not to go to war, the other only way to war is for the death of her king before the army is able to move to counter attack. That is the reason why only a small suicide group of 300 men marched to the battle. It is already Death for the king and his 300 men the moment they decided to fight, but its a glorious death they want to inspire their own people and to spite the Persian army.
