i am pretty amazed by the chasing part - esp the african (free-running), wow, I am amazed by his agility and the way he scale walls and obstacles. All the jumping must have a big impact on his knees (ouch).
And I am not impressed with the Bond girls this time round, not chio one...and I agree that the part after Craig's poker game is a bit confusing, double crossings, betrayals, etc. As its supposed to intro Bond's career as a spy, I supposed its quite funny to see being whacked so jia-lat...previous Bonds all went through dangers unscathed, hair still neatly combed.
overall I like the first part best. -
I absolutely enjoyed watching this movie.
Alot had been said about craig's looks and stuff, but seriously, craig looked more like a secret agent that the other dashing bonds.
And Eva Green is the prettiest bond girl. She has got that very unique pretty look -
Haven't watched the movie, but find it hard to believe the raves that Eva Green gets in this thread She doesn't look that good in the trailers or posters leh. Bad makeup I think, I dislike the heavy smokey eye on her olive complexion.

It looks like this one's going to be interesting, although some critics have argued that it still doesn't go far enough in bringing it back to the Bond of the original novels.
BTW, bugger Omega. In "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1963), Fleming clearly describes Bond wearing a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer on an expanding metal bracelet. Given Bond's Royal Navy background, it was probably a 6538 Submariner, which became Royal Navy issue in 1959. -

i find most james bond movies only slightly above average.

i like this version compared to the others.. despite the lack of gadgets.
its more.. personal. the others are kinda corny -
Eva Green said in an interview that she might come back for another sequel despite her character being killed off in the movie. hmm... who knows? maybe she will appear as a twin sister or simply the sequel will be a prequel.

I have a different opinion. I found the movie utterly boring with no cool factor in it.
My fav is still Pierce Bronsnan
I mean, the James Bond franchise is all about the ultra cool guy who does no wrong, with hi-tech gadgets and always looked as if he just groomed himself.
This guy, whatever he is, is not a James Bond. He is an action hero and not the cool charismatic charmer that James Bone is supposed to be. Fine, they said he just got the mantle but
found it all too lame. Even the action parts are
Personally, I think Huge Jackman might be able to pull it off and he would make a much better Bond than whatever his name is.
Things I don't like about this movie:
1. Bond has no charisma. He bores me to tears. I don't even want to look at him
2. The Bond girls are 'yawn' They are not even hot
3. The Aston Martin is
4. The plot within the plot is not working. They made it all so messy and dragged the movie unnecessarily
5. It has successfully shattered the image of the James Bond franchise

My view's quite the opposite, e.
First, the objective of CR was to bring it back to Ian Fleming's original concept rather than continue the path that the movies took, so if it's shattered the franchise it's done its job. Also, this is supposed to be Bond who's just come off his L-plates - think of this as the Bond version of Batman Begins. In light of that,
- few gadgets and Bond girls who detract from the plot: good stuff
- you get to see how Bond's formed his later approach to things: excellent
- Bond has rough edges and actually screws up: even better
- Bond spends more time working than getting laid: WOOHOO!
The only thing that let it all down was the last 15 seconds - Craig could have played that last bit a lot more brutally a la Connery. I'd give the script a 4.5/5, although I'm still undecided about Craig being better than anybody else to play the role - my vote for the best Bond still lies with Timothy Dalton. -
To be frank, the next fifteen minutes after the climax of Bond winning the $150mil was a total letdown. The movie seemed to lose a lot of its momentum after that.
Otherwise, I would say that the movie was quite realistic. It pretty much explains how Bond went from an arrogant and idealistic fella to one who is more cold and distant, as can be showed by how he described Vesper Lynd's death to M:
'Why do I need more time? The mission's over; the b*tch is dead.' -

I prefer the typical James Bond with the frills and without the flaws -
