Sinking of Japan official website
Screenplay written by Masato Katô, based on the science-fiction books Nippon chinbotsu and Nippon chinbotsu by Sakyô Komatsu. (Shirô Moritani's 1973 classic Submersion of Japan (Nippon chinbotsu) was likewise based on those books.)
Some might have seen the 1973 version that was screened in Singapore during the later 70s. -

i think i might have seen the earlier version...quite scary but the effects are quite thrashy, reminded me of Ultraman fighting scene where Ultraman will fight rubbery looking monsters and buildings and land will collapse - which they did using miniatures.
I saw the trailer for this movie, still the effects reminded me of the old movie, i.e. using minatures to create the real thing. I think I won't watch the movie . -

yeah think it was the first natural disaster type of show that i have watched and it left a pretty deep impression on me so still remembered it till now.Even given the very many years ago that show was made,it was filmed very well so if i have the chance,it would be good to watch it again
