A remake of korean movie Il Mare, tells the story of a lonely doctor (Sandra Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its newest resident, a frustrated architect (Keanu Reeves). When they discover that they're actually living two years apart, they must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it's too late.

Watch the korean one and felt the storyline is very good.... should be catching this one... taking into consideration the collaboration of keanu reeves and sandra bullocks in a non-action movie

i watched already in other place, the ending is kind of weird as Reeve supposed to die already in the dimension where Bullock is at, but he can come back alive wor.
Korean Il Mare ending's more acceptable. The male actor died already in the female's dimension but he managed to survive in the other dimension after the female sent letter to warn him about his death. -

It's a very nice show for those who had missed loves and are wondering about the what-ifs in life.

watched il mare... and it's the only korean movie that i had bought the vcd...
like the storyline... and is looking forward to watch the lake house too.. hope it will not be a disappointment... -

In any case, what probably excited audiences to the remake, is the pairing of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, one which has been long overdue since their very first pairing which sizzled with chemistry, and that being on an action movie no less - Speed. While both had moved on to star in various romances with other counterparts such as Charlize Theron, Cameron Diaz, Bill Pullman, Ben Affleck and Harry Connick Jr., the wait is over as they now reunite on screen in The Lake House.

well.... It's not bad.... i love this screen couple.. they have the chemistry..although the scenes of them together are v little...

I watched it yesterday. It is nice movie, romantic but not in the mushy way, and the different time frame was nicely put. Also raises a lot of questions about time-dimension-what can/cannot be changed/done.
