Dan Brown idea for the Da Vinci Code is not new. He just go on and compile them from various sources and form one. Those theories are not without their fact of cuz if one could dig in deeper into the story of Crusades, Priory of Sion, Templar Knights etc etc. This movie just spur you to look on further and open yourself up to a brand new interpretation of what could have happen during ancient times.
For starters, try digesting the Gnostic Gospels and the Dead Sea Scrolls for a start. They are ancient authentic texts like a Bible so it can be treated as the Truth too if you choose to believe

I think the more deeper implication of da vinci code story is not so much on holy grail but more on say if all these is true, then does it mean the Church teachings are NOT supposedly to be passed on after Jesus ascended to heavens? The true teachings should instead be coming forth from Mary Magdalene descendents?
So going on further, the Church should not even exist today cuz they are not the appointed holders to pass on Jesus teachings after he left. Now is this implication and repercussion big or not? This indeed will shake the foundation of the Church -

You can say about Priory of Sion but can you deny the existence of the Templar Knights? They were setup with the Church approval but somewhere down the road they were being hunted down by the Church. Care to theorize wat could have prompted the Church to order the massacre of all Templar Knights? They are supposed to be protectors for the Christain pilgrims doing a holy work
My feel is Templar Knights got hold of a secret or secrets that threaten the foundation of the Church and only such will they be ordered and silenced by the Church. Correct? -
