I watched the show yesterday. The show makes me ponder the true source of religion.

I used to be a freethinker and wonder too.
I had the opportunity of wondering since 7 year old when I look at the dark blue skies from my kampong attap house in AMK <50s> then read lots but books were great friends, libraries were a feast..
I even went overseas to wonder too at some of the greatest libraries to do some school bookish papers just to get a simple paper or, a degree.
The conclusion comes to to square one. All at the mind it's the mind and all are beliefs
However, there is one unmistakable thread which history can never deny
and it's always not the great Buddha
or even the Great Prophet who was entombed in the the Holy city, or others religious founders except One whose body was missing or disappeared. That’s J.C. the messiah whose comings and goings are all prophesied in the Holy scriptures. i bet if there is a book that revealed all about Someone’s unborn child thru such impossible tales as cloning and genetically engineering, and whose life story was told before hand.. it will beat Dan Brown s' book & movie< '' Da Vinci code''> a million times a Billion time more hotter for all times.. and that we all have it to gather dust in our cupboards..
it's the Bible the revealed evident historical facts about the spiritual world we have beyond the third dimension world we lived.

3 / 5 ( I would have given it a two stars only, if it wasn't for Tom Hanks)
It was a good movie, but the story was quite disappointing. Very predictable. And the ending leads to nowhere. Eg. They found who the descendent was. Bravo! But in the first few minutes of the show, I already foresee that even without having read the synopsis or the book. And at the end, the "descendent"s was being identified... and then end of story. I thought the descendent would have certain characteristics of Jesus Christ. But dun have lor.
Weeks of watching Da Vinci Code document on SCV and too much anticipation and talks about this movie led me to setting high expectation for this production. It was just yet another movie for this school holiday. That's about it. -

Similarly, if a pastor or Brother has a son/daughter, that doesnt mean he/she will be as holy mah...i know some pastor's daughters could be very wild and horny...
So, the point is that being the descendent is not such a big deal...the ultimate path depends on you ....like what Tom Hanks said to the gal. -

But my non Christian friend came out of cinema still asking me "So what is a holy grail".
The movie half the time in English, half in French. No wonder there are English subtitles throughout. But no use lah. Some of the terms they use French in the Eng subtitles.
Lucky last time spent a few years learning French language. Good movie to do some revisions. heheh. Managed to understand all the dialogue. But that doesn't make me like the movie.

I still dun get it lor. What is the purpose of the whole damn thing? If she is just going to be an ordinary person, no power, not going to save the world, then why ppl still bother to protect her.
At the end, the professor knelt down in front of the supposedly Mary Magdalene's resting place. But he didn't even dig out the coffin or what. Or show to the whole "hey this is Mary Magdalene!" The story just ended like that. -

Dun anticipate too much. I did that and now so disappointed. Go with no expectation at all and you will probably enjoy the movie. -

People want to find her is because if people can show that she has the same DNA as Mary, then a lot of Christians are going to lost faith with the religion...about Jesus story etc...this has already been explained in the movie.
The professor knelt down cause remember in the movie..."Only the worthy may find the Grail..." And those that knelt before the Grail will be blah blah...etc.......As on why he did or did not or will or will not show to the whole world is no longer important lah....the gist of the story/movie is in finding it, not whether he will tell it to the world or not.....
This is same as many movies...we must know the theme of what the movie wants to tell....e.g. many chinese movies, english movies also have supposed unfinished endings....but as what it says, its not the ending that matters, its the process. -

for example, the one where sophie neveau is running into the fields.
also, when langdon pricked himself while shaving, you will have noticed that the blood seems to form an excalibur. this is also foreshadowing that he is a knight that is worthy of finding the grail.
another part of foreshadowing is when sophie neveau had a scar on her neck, on the left side, there is a patch of blood that so perfectly forms a triangle, why? because the triangle represents trinity, god the father, the son, and the holy spirit, although i still dont understand why. -

i am quite happy with the adaptation though i think the cast ain't that great. unfortunately, like all adaptations, time does not permit the movie to run into greater depths. now that you have watched the show, its really a lot more enlightening when you follow up with the book. -

i read the ebook last nite......
did make more sense but then, to me, it's just a movie
i did not carry a biased heart or any expectations when i go see it
so to me, im enjoying it as like any other movie

Everything is so rush in the movie !!! like the way they solve the codes n when the next clue came.. Nearly slpt haf way through the movie. The book is much more better...
