for director Sami Rami, tobey maguire and kirsten dunst, it might be their last cos they originally only sign for 3 installments.
but hey who knows? things might change, either the winning trio sign a new contract or the studio find a new director, new cast. -

toby maguire looks good as spiderman...why would they wanna change a winning combo?i am sure someone like orlando bloom wouldn't look good in a spiderman custume... -
the studio was thinking of replacing tobey maguire with jake gyllenhaal (brokeback mountian) in spiderman 2 when tobey injured his back.

Hi, new around here. Recently, I saw someone who posted that he work on the sets of spiderman 3, and leak out the storyline...feel free to read and see if it is true.
Possible spoilersFor all you guys bickering and arguing over who the ‘four’ villains are, whether Venom will be in it or not, well I’ve got all the REAL info right here.
Only read on if you want this film to be spoiled for you. IÂ’m sure a lot of you guys will be ecstatic to hear what I have to say, some of you not so, but I hand on heart declare zis is all ze truth.
Obviously the sceptics amongst you will shoot me down or such, but whatever.
All I can say is this movie that Raimi has been cooking up is going to be pretty fantastic, even though it does stray pretty far from the comics.
ItÂ’s a much fuller and darker movie than the previous two, with a runtime of roughly 150 min.
The Q&A that leaked earlier in the year was accurate, but was from an early draft of the script; believe me when I say a lot of things have been altered and changed since that designer leaked info.
The villains in this movie ARE
Sandman
Green Goblin
Venom
And believe it or not Â…
Spider-Man.
The first Act introduces Spidey to the symbiote, brings Eddie and Gwen in to the mix, details Flint Markos origins and Peter and MjÂ’s relationship. Also shows Harrys decline in to lunacy, hallucinations of his dad, experimenting with equipment.
The second act show Spider-man turning to the dark side and committing various felonies, fantastic (well it seems so on paper) action scene with Sandman.
The ‘bad’ Parker gets with Gwen Stacey, and generally acts like a totally bastard to MJ.
Harry becomes Green Goblin and chases Peter Parker over the rooftops only for him to don the symbiote and then kill Harry by going too far and destroying his glider.
The third act involves the funeral of Harry, Spider-Man ridding the symbiote and Venom being born (Eddie is in Parkers shadow throughout the entire movie).
The final battle with Sandman being defeated by Spider-man without the symbiote shows even though he isnÂ’t as physically strong, it doesnÂ’t matter because thatÂ’s not what made him such a great hero in the first place.
Enter Venom at the end who holds Stacey and MJ hostage and youÂ’ve got one awesome final scene leading on to movie number 4. -

though this may not be the real one, the plot given is still more or less in line with other rumors I've heard.

Sandman is the murderer of uncle Ben.
