When their beloved foster mother is killed in a holdup, four tough brothers reunite in their old Detroit neighborhood with revenge on their minds. Mark Wahlberg plays the brawl-hungry leader, Bobby. His brother, Angel (Tyrese Gibson), is a rowdy sailor with a high-strung Latina girlfriend (Sofi Vergara). Garrett Hedlun plays the young rock & roller of the clan. And Outkast's Andre 3000, Benjamin, is the family man whose tenuous mob connection may link him to the killers.
Not a bad male-bonding movie if you enjoy watching trigger-happy Wahlberg kicking ass, though you get a feeling of how hollow revenge could be at the end of the movie. (As expected, the movie has quite a liberal amount of foul language and violence that makes it unsuitable for children with milk teeth -- though not as bad as "Sin City". Wouldn't recommend it for a dating movie as well.) -
A Nutshell Review: Four Brothers
A kind old lady is murdered in cold blood one snowy night in a convenience store. It seemed like the usual stick up by racist hoodlums on the hard streets of Detriot, and that the lady was collateral damage.

Why two brothers are blacks and two are whites?
Also this movie reminds me of GTA San Andreas the game. Same storyline about avenging his murdered moms, black ppl hurling vulgarities and shooting lots of ppl too. -

The similarities may be there, but there's not much sleaze here in this movie, as compared to the game. Just violence and expletives. -
