  from oscar winning director for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Peter Jackson, comes his new film King Kong, to be out in December this year.

  i wonder. if there's dinosaurs on skull island why not just bring the dinosaurs back instead of kong. surely dinosaurs make a better attraction.

  Maybe Kong could be lured to the city by an attractive woman like Naomi Watts, while the dinosaurs would either ignore her (for the herbivores) or eat her up (for the others)?

  Yeah, I suppose. It's just that he doesn't seem to fit into the vision of Jack Driscoll that I have - Fay Wray's (Ann) love interest, man saving the damsel in distress and all. These images of him in The Village keep coming to mind, not to mention his kiss stealing antic on Halle Berry

  Maybe his looks aren't dashing enough to make people forget his less glamorous roles when he takes on the more glamourous leading ones?
  
  Would you see see Leonardo DiCaprio and think of him in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?", or Johnny Depp and think of him in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", or Robert De Niro and think of him in "Awakenings"?

  strange that you should mention Fear and Loathing.. i LOVED the movie.. and the book too
  
  and as for Depp, mention him and i think of 21 Jump Street and Nightmare on Elm Street.. in the latter, it was kinda forgettable but i dunno why i keep equating that movie to him

  Oh, I guess whenever I think of oddballs, Depp's character in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" just takes the cake. (I never did fully understand Terry Gilliam's movies -- they seem so surreal.) You'll probably like him as quirky Willy Wonka in the upcoming "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", too.
  
  Depp's movie debut was in "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and he was killed off almost as soon as he appeared on screen, so I'd suppose most movie fans would remember his early beginnings well. Same thing for Kevin Bacon when I keep equating "Friday the 13th" to him (though Bacon's debut was in the hilarious "Animal House" ).
