  a bit disappointing....i watch the DVD of it
  
  there should be a scene where the alien talk or interact with the human...
  
  then there's one part where the humvee and tank start firing at the machine...moment later they get destroyed....the machines appear later on the screen, on fire but seems unhurt.....this means that they might be undestructuble but why at the end there's one machine brought down by marines using rockets?
  
  then also when the machine came down why before the alien came out ,there was some brownish liquid coming out?
  
  BTW Dakota Fanning's cute....watched Hide and seek on the aeroplane to Australia

  This is not "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". The aliens came with hostile "take-no-prisoners" (other than for consumption) intentions, so any attempt at human-alien interaction is probably redundant.
  
  The aliens were unprepared to deal with viral and bacterial infection after consuming the food and breathing the air of Earth. They could no longer maintain their shields to deflect the firepower from the marines.
  
  As for the brownish liquid, your guess is as good as mine, but here's a possible clue: What usually happens when you get food poisoning?

  ANd ya, the aliens were no longer able to maintain their shields because there were dying. I dunno if you remember, but the pigeons were able to land on the machines. That's what tipped Tom Cruise off.
  
  I didn't really think much of the brownish liquid. Maybe it is, as suggested above, shit. Or maybe its supposed to be hydraulic fluid from a damaged machine? dunno. I think its mostly there for effect.

  IMO.. i didnt really like the movie.. it was too.. draggy in the beginning and then it ended really quickly.. how the Fuck did robbie survive.. and how damn lucky can you get.. everyone around them died and only they survived.. only their car was working.. wtf? and although they did follow the book.. they just ended the movie so quickly.. only showed 2 of the mobiles dying
