C.S. Lewis’ timeless adventure THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings -- Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter -- in World War II England who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of ‘hide-and-seek’ in the rural country home of an elderly professor. [Who they are sent to stay with because of the Air-Raids in London]. Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Under the guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the lion Aslan, the children fight to overcome the White Witch’s powerful hold over Narnia in a spectacular, climactic battle that will free Narnia from Jadis’ icy spell forever. With "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and Peter Jackson's "King Kong" scheduled for release at about the same time, movie fans are in for a blockbuster treat come the end of the year.
i went online to check... border's sellin it at 40+ or 50+Originally posted by Tuatau:Book 2 "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" was actually the first book to be written in the series, while Book 1 "The Magician's Nephew" was written as a prequel later. And Book 2 is the most popular among the series, so one can understand why the filmmakers would choose Book 2 to make into a movie first.
I saw Borders Singapore selling the boxed set at around S$40+ a few months back, you can call the staff and confirm the price with them. Or you could wait for the movie to be released and ride on the movie tie-in promotions, if any.
