Director Raimi has just announced Topher Grace from TV sitcom "That '70s Show" would be playing another villain in "Spider-Man 3".

With Thomas Haden Church and a possible third villain James Franco, would we see "Spider-Man 3" following the dreaded footsteps of the Batman franchise? Why couldn't Raimi focus on one single villain and develop the character from there like the first two? Or is he attempting to pull off a Sinister Six-like feat? -
i think Sam Raimi will probably use them in future sequels. u know, give them minor roles first, introduce them briefly, show us what's their relationship with peter parker etc. so as to save time without the need to fully introduce their origin etc in future sequels.
anyway, there's plenty of potential villains as seen in the 1st 2 films, harry osborn aka new green goblin, peter's teacher aka the lizard. i even heard rumors that they might even be introducing the black cat aka peter's classmate into the third film.
well, lets just wait and see how everything turns out. -
