Movies with excellent sound effects

  i was thinking, if i were to buy dvds, i wanna buy those that can utilise my family's sound system(although old). i prefer to call it "stress-test" the system.
  
  movies like Day after tomorrow, brotherhood, war movies etc.
  
  what's yr recommendation?
