Before Sunrise was a movie about an american dude and a french lady who met in Europe and fell in love.. they were supposed to meet somewhere but they never did...
Before Sunset is 9 years later... a chance meeting in France... and they start to talk about their lives as they stroll around Paris.. talking about their hopes and fears and everything in their lives... even when he's already married and she has a boyfriend.. the tension between them because of their new status..
most people will hate these movies... there are no car chases, no explosions, no beginning, no end... it is just a slice of time...
and wonderful to watch.. -

then there's one which will never make it here.. Go Fish! about a bunch of lesbians trying to hook one of their friends up with another girl... it was nice and warm and such but the ending smooch-o-rama was unnecessary and kinda spoilt the movie...
Lost in Translation wasn't that publicised here even if it was nominated for the Oscar..
then there was El Mariachi.. the movie which made a name for Robert Rodriguez...
i also liked Killing Zoe...
lots.. just look at those which are non-mainstream, and you'll find gems in them which are not your usual Hollywood drivel...

I watched equilibrium dubbed in THAI when i was in a remote hill tribe village in the middle of the hills in chiang rai. one of the kids rented the movie
talk about lack of publicity.
after that, i went all over thailand and couldnt find a copy of the movie. i still havent been able to.

but did u watch the part where the hero killed 13 people armed with automatic weapons in like 30 seconds, that was the coolest thing ever. -

it's a confounding, mind-bending tale told in backward-jumping reverse, featuring a hero (Guy Pearce) without short-term memory trying to find the person who murdered his wife. what's interesting is that the whole movie is told in reverse! definately worth a watch!
