I currently work 12-14 hours a day in a bank and those hours are chaotic times. We lunch in, MCs are frowned upon and no one can take time off cause you know you're screwing the rest of your colleagues over. We do not have public holidays either.
I'm in talks with my bosses to transfer to an overseas unit but frankly, i've two minds about this cause I'm still not sure if my high pressure environment is a firmwide / industry problem or a country specific issue. I've heard that people outside of my industry also work lengthy shifts and in pressure cooker environments in Singapore. If I'm right and its the latter, then its a great decision to leave the country.
Would love anyone's thoughts on this =)
