How have your job changed you?

I would say being in my current job has definitely changed me alot.
I have become expert in office politics, and als more nasty

It is actually the envoironment that changes you and not the job itself.
So long as at the end of the day, when u ''unmask'', you can still recognise your true self.
It is sad that office politics is everwhere but then again, it is also about survival.
And there are no true friends in office, only allies or enemies, short term and long term. Meaning to say, allies could turn enemies and vice versa due to conflict of interest and personal survival. That's very real in the corporate world.
So, be careful what you say and whom you say. You will never know it will turn against you one day.

Is change necessarily a bad thing?
If anything, my current role's been particularly good for me on a personal front. Up till my postgrad days I was never too organised, but now that I have to mamage projects, that's gotten a lot better. On top of that, the practical space I work in means that a lot of the stuff that I do has a more real-world grounding - while I was at university it always bugged me that I didn't know how much of the theory actually held together once the first shot was fired. At the same time, my experience has also affirmed that the approach to work that I had developed while at school wasn't far off the mark.
As for politics, I just don't bother.
