Well let me first start off by saying I have a girlfriend(gf) who is working in OCBC and I am apalled by the way the management are treating her.
She has a male boss that is proned to making public comments criticizing employees, suggesting they should be fired or that they might find themselves out of a job if they don't improve. I haven't taken to those insensitive remarks kindly. His name "Axxxn".
The one thing that made it more difficult was having a new lady manager that recently joined. "Sxxxxxa". I think she is very unprofessional and demeaning to her subordinates. Whenever there was extra work to be done, my gf was her number 1 target.
Unfortunately my gf is working in a totally new area compared to her previous job and they never train or gave her the help to be able to train properly. The training that she gave was criticism.
She reprimanded my her for not meeting her target. It is kind of ironic that my girlfriend is the one that works her pants off late into the night until 2 or 3am while the lady manager sits in her office with no clue of what is really going on in this area and relies on others to do her work.
And instead of putting her 100% effort into work, the female manager spends company time doing her personal stuff and wasting time and end up working late. Best part is, they expect my gf to stay back with them.
The LAST STRAW that drove me to write this complain is that even when my girlfriend was sick and had an MC from the doctor, they still asked her to go back to her. As a result, my girlfriend health is detoriating badly.
Well anyways after doing all of this, my gf is now being "forced" to resign. The big boss wanted to know what my gf issues were. I knew that she had done that once before and was literally treated like crap. She was marked as not being a team player and telling the truth about a person who always felt the need to bully people. And of course I do not think she could go to the big boss anymore as (as far as I can deduce from what I know) they seem to have more than a working relationship.
I AM CONDEMNING OCBC FOR LIFE!!! AND IF THERE HAPPENS TO BE ANY OCBC MANAGERS READING THIS, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! DO NOT MAKE THE ASSUMPTION I WILL NOT GO AND LODGE A FORMAL COMPLAINT IF MY GF SUFFERS ANY PERM HEALTH DAMAGE!!!

my sister-in-law works for a financial institution in sydney. took an entry level position 2.5years ago. visited her last june and some of the crap she underwent at work that she told me rivals what is posted here.
things got better after a time after she knows how to assert herself and understand the recourse she has.
it's just your arse luck to have a bad boss; it's everywhere regardless of creed, race or nationality.

I agree with u. But when i said it never happens in australia means the employee who no power to change the situation happens to him or her as in the above case.
Maybe u will like to elaborate on what she went thru.
It's the same everywhere.
