Go online and keep a lookout for resume samples (relevant to your industry).
Cover Letter
- Keep it short and simple.
- Sum up your background in one sentence.
- Include how you feel your abilities can benefit your potential employer, 2 or 3 sentences.
- End off with the objectives (goals) you hope to achieve in this line of work.
Resume
- Profile and a short introduction of yourself.
- Relevant academic achievements.
- Relevant training and skills you've undergone.
- Language proficiency
- Some additional information about yourself such as interests
If you want or they require a photograph, spend 20 bucks. Get it professionally taken. Submit anything but a boring passport picture of yourself. Good luck!
tp got 1 subject that requires u to write ur own resume, so that you can use next time. and you can keep adding on to it

so photo not important?
no need photo one la. most impt is what u write in ur resume tt attract ur future employer or recruitment agent.
as for job hunting, the golden rule applies: fake it until u get it.
pm me if you want your resume tailored to you. charges to you.
if this is your first job, write about your achievements, good ones not those boring ones. they don't care whether u won first prize in the story telling contest in secondary school etc. any working experiences, special skills like programming languages etc.
and yes a photograph plays a part too. no denying a better looking person stands a higher chance if all the interviewees are run-of-the-mall, with the same qualifications etc. that is where your uniqueness stands out.

resume service.... gd idea got the lazy ones...
what good resume? morning Musume?
I feel the higher the position you shall be applying for the more important shall be the cover letter. Present in point forms and keywords in your CV in an orderly manner to indicate your education, past employment an so on.
Otherwise imagine the HR or party screening your initial application having to read a novel trilogy like Lord of the Rings.
Most entry, junior or mid level job posting believe me everyday a lot of applicants are sending in via fax or email.
i strongly recommend that you borrow the `what color is your parachute?' book from the library. it is probably one of the best guides for resume writing.
i pick up tips from there often, but i hardly go for interviews now in the last 2 years.
I've seen before hp taken resume photos...side shot somemore lol
it's not how well ur CV is written that gets you the job..
sometimes it's ur credentials that gets you the job...
but most of the time it's ur asking pay that gets you the job...

well, the cv's help open the door for you to get a foot in. what/how you do after that is what you make the most of the opportunity.
for 2 equally well-qualified person and 1 with a poorly written cv, the other guy will be the one getting the call for the interview.
hence, cv is important in that sense.
If you are a yan dao or chio bu, then you stand a better chance.
I know it sucks, but that's the way the corporate world works.
Really.
