Irregular working hours

before i step into the concrete jungle, i told myself i will never get a routine 8.30 to 6 job.
now that i have started working i kinda regretted that decision. right now my job require me to be in 24/7 standby after office hours, must come back to work if the need to, even on weekends.
sometimes there are also late night jobs can only be done after 12 midnight.
it make me think that a routine 8.30 to 6 job is not bad after all. at least one can be sure he won't be disturb after office hours and one can definitely get the weekends to oneself.
what about you guys/girls? what are your thoughts? -
If the pay is good and i am single.... it is ok... else, i wont.

Mine is a regular 8.30 to 6 job...
No need on standby outside office hours...
Come to think of it...many people will gian to be in my job...

me OTOT system
sometimes i have meetings at 10pm
on some days, i have to wake up at 7am
ppl go out enjoy during weekends, i might have to work
sometimes for a few days dun feel like doing any work, damn no mood... but bo bian.... still must do.....
i can work anytime, anywhere.... which oso means im 24hrs standby too...
there are gives and takes for flexible working hours....... -

mine is 830 to 530 job la..
but most of the times, i work till v late.
i also tot that im not suitable for a routine job.. but then im glad that sometimes aft work i can still meet up with frens for dinner or go movie/shopping.. if i do shift work.. think it will be even harder to catch up with frens. -
flexible working hours at least not so bad. some days u work more, some days u work less.
mine is normal working hours plus all those late night/weekends jobs if there's a need to. there is OT money but it is so little.

i work the graveyard shift. always feel bad when i need to call the IT person when system down middle of the night ...

mine is 7:15 - 1:45

what about you guys/girls? what are your thoughts?routine job no OT leh n still expect u to work xtra hours... but ya 24/7 operations environment is not gd on long run... so work a 1-2yr then go back to normal hours lo... weekend burn is hell... gordy is IT engineer?

9am to 11pm very standard hours...
sat/sun own time own target go back office... no overtime pay also...

telecom engineering. a bit sian liao. maybe this year can plan to switch job.

hmmm comms ah... move away from engineer job lo... maybe comms sales? or consultant level? if u experience enuff can go into management... -
mine is 11am-10pm daily, off on mostly wkdays.
i got no life.
