Job Not Suitable,but if resign now my colleague in trouble

i started this job around mid of last month. my role is to replace this gal who is resigning and her last day is 20 of dec.
She is the one training me
, but my learning style and her teaching style is very different. She expects me to learn the ropes using the memorizing method.She will say 100 things and suddenly she ask:''Whats Number 2?""
If i can't answer, she will be unpleased..My previous jobs all is learn as you do one. She then will want me to type out every single thing she said.How can i remember all esp without doing????all is say say say, no do one.
But if i resign now, she going to be in trouble cos she has a one month trip after she resign, then she will start her new job straight away that is confirmed liaoz. If i resign, i guess she may have to give up her trip which she has paid for.I know you may say that she may not care as she is juz an employee..but...ahem...she is the daughter of one of the bosses. and, she is quite a nice person lah.
Even if i endure a few more months, will be the same cos i may not have the experience to train another person..
Plus, i get along well with all other employees
honestly speaking, i find the job ok, juz that wrong person doing the training.
i understand her point that time is tight , but she expect me to learn all the things she done in 3 yr in this short time

talk to her. let her know u will scram if u dont learn the ropes.

You have to be direct with her. Talk with her.

talk to your superior about this.. cos if u failed to take over what she has handed over, your superior will have more problems.
he will help u to help himself..

I had no problems learning things in my previous jobs no matter how hard, but honestly,this job after a few weeks liao i am still very lost cos no hands on..the 1st day i am left on myt own i think i will mati liao

Just ask her out for lunch/dinner one day and talk to her straight to the point and let her know that you're really not getting it.
Don't put the blame on her or rather, don't put it across as blaming her. But act humble, and pretend that it's you that cannot accept her "perfectly normal" method.
Or bring a recorder or use your phone to record down what she said. Go home, write down and memorise. Lol. -

Exactly! If u like the job, then stay on! Dun hv to b bothered abt someone who is leavin soon. If u r worrying abt ur learning, u r probably worryin for nothing. It's pretty usual for someone who is totally new in the line to rem nuts. It's onli when u start doin it & u wll remember. Jus give urself more faith & confidence!

Have a good open discussion with the girl training you. Lay all the cards open on the table......... Each will then understand the other's position better. No ned for guesswork here.

dealing with foreign workers.....nothing to worry lah....just whack ur agent for anything coz they are paid to do the job

anyway...I sort of understand how U feel...cos I also worked for HR before and also have to help apply work permits,EP,etc...steep learning curve but routine once U get the hang of it...

If you think that the job and the pay are not suitable, then leave.
If you want the job but the training is lousy, just feedback to the immediate boss so that the boss would understand that you will not be able to pick up immediately after the trainer leaves.
If your immediate boss is as unreasonable as your trainer, you better move on.
Your trainer is already leaving the company and your resignation will not affect her holiday as the company would find another replacement soon.
I guess your trainer would be in a resignation mood and would definitely leave a lot of surprises for you.
So, if you can bear with it, then you have to carry on. -
Hmm... seriously speaking, you'll need to talk to her straight. if you have to learn by the time she left, she had to teach you in the way that you can absorb faster... and no some stupid lecture like training...

Take notes cannot?
Take notes, and when she is gone, you can have your way.
No matter how she cannot teach you everything.
Learn as much as you can, the rest you'll learn on your own.
You'll survive lah, office work is easy to pick up. -
Ask her to type out that 100 things for you to slowly digest lor.

I experienced a similar thing. But lucky the one leaving left everything swee swee for me. Plus, my boss and other people give me the time to slowly digest.
