can be up to one month.Originally posted by askxyz:What is the longest waiting period from the time the job is being offered to you (as in you were told in phone), to the time you can begin to start working, you ever experienced?
I went for the interview about 1 month ago. Being offered the job (though phone) about 3 weeks ago. Now the HR like make me wait so long to sign the contract and to start work. When the HR said want to return call, he didn't. Whenever I called, he is always busy. Although he did tell me my pay and stuff, but I don't understand why is he delaying me from starting work. Is there some kind of trick?Originally posted by Gordonator:i don't get it. u are asking what is the longest period one waited to start work after being hired?
i don't understand why one have to "wait" to start work. if u are currently unemployed, most companies will of course want u to start work as soon as possible. why would they make u wait to start work?
unless u are saying if u get the new job while u are still in your current company and therefore resigned. in this case u must give a one month notice before u can go. meaning to say if u want to resign on this date, u must inform the company 1 month in advance.
so to say, the fastest u can start work at the new company is 1 month later.
Why take so long de? Is the HR inefficient or are there too many steps to follow?Originally posted by selfobliged:can be up to one month.
HR want to wait for a certain day of the month, so payroll easier to calculate.Originally posted by askxyz:Why take so long de? Is the HR inefficient or are there too many steps to follow?
What ... is there a need? If they need people, there is no need for that.Originally posted by ditzy:HR want to wait for a certain day of the month, so payroll easier to calculate.
If your company is a big corporation, like 200 over staff, it really is easier to do that.Originally posted by askxyz:What ... is there a need? If they need people, there is no need for that.
Do you think the HR will say to me "We decided not to employ you as we have found a better candidate?Originally posted by Gordonator:maybe the company is not lacking manpower right now. that's why HR taking own sweet time to do the paper work.
