well.. at least ur manager is being... a manager. =P its all about team work. But if someone cant do it..affecting others ability to perform.. someone has to go. I made quite a few ppl kana sack. But thats one of the ways to maintain order in a 'fair' way.Originally posted by rainee:I will watch him from now on and make sure I don't say too much to him.
My manager knows that I am affected so she came to have a private talk with me just now. I think somehow she managed to calm me down and also she has told my colleague not to keep comparing who has more work to do and so on.
nah, he is not new. He has been here for nearly a year already, while I have been here for slightly more than a year. He and I are in different departments actually, but still there will be needs for us to cooperate sometimes when it comes to certain project.Originally posted by Stoat:Hrmmm...
I believe that you are doing the same amount of work as your new colleague. But since he is new, he can't do things as fast or efficiently as you...so maybe he has more overtime and gets upset naturally. Have to look at both sides of the picture ya? Tell ur boss to hire a temp to ease the workload until ur newbie colleague gets the hang of things.
Well, one thing about him which almost everyone in the company knows is that he has a big mouth and likes to say things without considering the consequences. It causes a lot of awkward moments and it has happened before as well, but I managed to be patient and tolerant about it until now. But what happened yesterday was the last straw.Originally posted by BadzMaro:well.. at least ur manager is being... a manager. =P its all about team work. whether he can get benefit, it depends on how u play yr game lor...Originally posted by rainee:Yea lor, that's what I told him before, but obviously he does not take heed and prefer to create all sorts of trouble...
He is getting benefits la, if he pushes the thing for me to do then he doesn't need to do lor...
I already made it so that he has to share the workload with me in this new project le. But we are both doing different parts of it, so won't need to communicate together much. Of cos he is displeased with this, but too bad it is my boss' final decision liaozOriginally posted by ispyyy:whether he can get benefit, it depends on how u play yr game lor...

why?Originally posted by Wanda:Maybe you should watch out for your (she) manager as well.
If she is being fair like you'd said, then why did she "succumbed" (to quote you) to the other guy's lies - which caused you to feel that you'd been backstabbed?Originally posted by rainee:why?
it's cos the guy kept pestering her ma...evday goes into her office and pester her to rope me into the project until she feels that she has no choice but to agree with him...Originally posted by Wanda:If she is being fair like you'd said, then why did she "succumbed" (to quote you) to the other guy's lies - which caused you to feel that you'd been backstabbed?
Should have let her go when she tendered earlier...why still keep her?Originally posted by BufPuf:my current team is quite cohesive
until a new ger came
At first, we thought she was those very innocent. Until recently, she start to challenge everybody and turn very cunning.
All of us quite shock and so frustrated with her. Start to boycott her.
She went around telling everybody that she is very busy at work and nobody understand. Most of us handle her a/c before and noe what is the workload like. In less than 2 months, she had tender 5 times. Everytime when my team leader try to give her new things to do, she tender.
People who don't know the truth start to sympthasize her.
The most ultimate thing she did yesterday was to go to the MD's secretary and told her that the entire team gang up and bully her. She felt that there is no freedom of speech and no freedom in work here.
We hope she leave faster!
If during the interview, the interviewer asks you why you quit your current job. Would you tell the interviewer that because you are backstabbed? Or what?Originally posted by rainee:He told my boss that she needs to give me more work to do. And there were some projects which we are supposed to handle together, apparently he managed to persuade my manager to see that he is handling a lot more stuff than me, while according to him, I am just doing nothing most of the time
Which is total bullshit cos I have almost the same working hours as him, just that the workload is different only. Plus I have more admin stuff to handle compared to him.
I can't believe that my manager believed the crap he said. Totally disappointed in her.
Luckily I am also quitting soon
of cos notOriginally posted by askxyz:If during the interview, the interviewer asks you why you quit your current job. Would you tell the interviewer that because you are backstabbed? Or what?
look on the bright side. no more seeing your arch rival everyday anymore.Originally posted by 798:tomorrow my last day... i quit in a impulsive mood as i feel i am being isolated there.
the worst thing was my manager n dept manager can accused me for not being committed to my job n my colleagues dislike me.
now i am going to be jobless. but it is better to work in a company with short fortsight.
Then what would you say?Originally posted by rainee:of cos not
just say that the working environment doesn't suit me, looking for a new challenge, all the bla bla politically correct answer Being really honest in the first interview wun bag you the job, and you especially dun wan to go around criticizing the place you have been working in, it leaves a bad impression with the interviewerOriginally posted by askxyz:Then what would you say?
sorry I didn't read the other posts... what did he do?Originally posted by rainee:
I am a victim of backstabbing today. And the most surprising thing is I thought my manager would understand my position and would side with me, but she decided to side with the backstabbing colleague.
And to think I treated him with kindness all this while. He joined a few months later than me and I taught him all that is needed to help him to fit into the environment. But ended up my hand got bitten by the tiger dat I fed instead.
So lesson to peeps here: don't be taken in by ppl who look innocent or pretend to look innocent. Trust no one
