Backstabbing

I am a victim of backstabbing today. And the most surprising thing is I thought my manager would understand my position and would side with me, but she decided to side with the backstabbing colleague.
And to think I treated him with kindness all this while. He joined a few months later than me and I taught him all that is needed to help him to fit into the environment. But ended up my hand got bitten by the tiger dat I fed instead.
So lesson to peeps here: don't be taken in by ppl who look innocent or pretend to look innocent. Trust no one -

hmm. i believe there are such ppl out there.. however i have met some good colleagues too..
use our vision to see who should be trusted and who should not be... -
He told my boss that she needs to give me more work to do. And there were some projects which we are supposed to handle together, apparently he managed to persuade my manager to see that he is handling a lot more stuff than me, while according to him, I am just doing nothing most of the timeOriginally posted by Rock^Star:How were you backstabbed?

I have always thought that he is a good colleague, he has never tried to backstab me before this. anyways.. the innocent and quiet type some really genuine.. but some.. i tell u... they are the ones u always wont see it coming one. Thats why i watch thier @ss... thier every move.. and make sure if they backstab me.. they will burn! -
maybe u r sure lah... cos so far, i never encounter any backstabbing issues.... and hope that i will not encounter too...
u shld have told ur manager that u handled more admin stuff and u r not THAT free after all... -

My manager knows that I am affected so she came to have a private talk with me just now. I think somehow she managed to calm me down and also she has told my colleague not to keep comparing who has more work to do and so on. -

But such is the state of the corporate world these days. Fear not for justice will prevail one day......... Hypocrisy is just a disease that many are carriers. It's sad when you have to watch your back all the time....... 
But this cloak and dagger thing is here to stay. I'm past dreading it already. If the axe has to fall on my neck because of this, so be it.... I'll just take life one day at a time and try to be as happy as I can at all times. Cross the bridge when you come to it. No point getting paranoid and screwing up your life......

Regardless of what happened, I cannot find it in my heart to forgive my colleague (even after my manager has already talked to him and decided to make us share the workload of the project). Who knows if I give in I will be backstabbed again in the future? -

btw, he is not getting any benefits from the above....
