Do you see yourself working for your curreny coy till retire

this question is particularly for those below 30........
i am curious whether the mentality of working for the same company till retirement is still there for the younger generation

of course not.
staying in the same company for so many yrs = no improvement.
i want to have different job experiences before i retire or get married and become a huang lian po.

If I have a choice, I will want to work for the same company for life...
Reason : Not because of money or prospect but because working in the same company enhances one's feeling of job satisfaction and achievement...
For example : U build the company... u grow with the company... yr feelings and efforts have been placed on the company. The company is like a child to you... If u moved to another rival company and did something great there, wont u be killing yr own child... The satisfaction and achievement will be greatly reduced...
But however, in Singapore, there is no such thing as working for the same company for life... The culture in Singapore is different... Companies in Singapore will take care on yr basic needs for now but they wont take care on yr basic needs in the future... U will noe ... u can feel it .... coz, there is examples everywhere...
Hence, in Singapore, u wil never see people working for the same company... Coz, it is unrealistic working for the same company... -

I think the most concerning prob is, "Will u see urself working at the same job before u retire?"
Reason is there is a high chance u might get retrench or fired even b4 u retired esp when u reach 40++. This might happen even u like to stay in the coy till u retire. Some are lucky to find other jobs which can have the same job scope and commanding almost the same pay. Some are forced to reduce their pay but doing the same job. Those who r not lucky will end up in working in food industries, taxi drivers or some other job which they never ever think of. -

tat is y I say in Singapore we have no choice... but to move on to other companies with better prospect... Coz, companies in Singapore take care yr basic needs for today but dont take care yr basic needs for future...
They wont say "ahhh... u have contributed with our company XXXXX much... we will take care of u in the future..."
They will only say " We r sorry.. we know tat u have contributed to our company XXXX much... But....." -
definitely no..
i seen how my poor team leader got to take up extra job scope which was not her in the first place..
even if my career path dun lead to a team leader....it will means that i will end up in the expediting team..probably something that i will like but yet to see... -
provided they plan out a good career path and provide enough welfare like promotion and raise in salary till 50 years old.
if no, stay for what? -
If the package is good, I might end up working as my company's customer.

But those who are overpaid will hug the company till death 1... usually, got sideline 1... Their income is more than 1 source... And this people are usually above mid 30s... -

take for example a guy in engineering, due to his specialised knowledge and skills, he is getting a well paid salary, if he jump ship to a rival company he can ask for a higher salary since he has related working experiences.
if he were to change career to a something new, it will also be a waste of his skills as well.
